“Probably not since the last time P. Diddy hit St. Tropez’s Club 55 has the Louis Roederer Cristal, the Dom Perignon and the vintage Veuve Clicquot flowed as freely as they did tonight at the gala opening of Georgetown’s rebuilt Safeway supermarket. Supermarket? Yes, indeed.
“… I would not judge the new Safeway by tonight’s soiree. It was luxurious and extravagant, yes, and perhaps a bit out of touch with the times, but it was also a brilliant marketing move to get attention for the store. In the end, its a supermarket, but with lots more than it had before. Its a good thing for Georgetown. And, no small detail, its open 24 hours.”
